Topic: Why the Kingdom is so important to our walk and serving Jesus through business and life

Join our discussion of describing What is God’s Kingdom following last month’s convincing study and discussion on Why the Kingdom is so important to our walk and serving Jesus through business and life. Last month we observed that the Kingdom of God message was taught 115 times in the gospels alone, with a continuing and comprehensive ministry theme from Jesus’ beginning to death on the cross and in the resurrection and establishment of the Church. In order to fulfill our own purpose and to obey Jesus’s directives on the Kingdom such as seeking it first and praying for the Father’s Kingdom to come and His will to be done, it is helpful to step back and explore what is the Kingdom of God. We will discuss and explore the following key aspects:

  • How does the Kingdom relate to the Garden of Eden, God’s initial plan, and the consequences of the disobedience?
  • What are, as Jesus followers, our roles in the Kingdom on earth today; citizens, Ambassadors, friends, Co-Managers, others.
  • Identify Key Kingdom concepts of domain, ownership, rights, wealth, power, and more.
  • What are the privileges, benefits, and responsibilities to us, of submitting to serve the Kingdom of God in business?

By participating in this teaching and discussion you will gain a better understanding of the structure and operating principles of God’s Kingdom in place today, allowing you to better apply your time, treasure, and talents for greater impact and influence. You will gain an understanding of the ways to build God’s Kingdom while building and operating your own business through a righteous relationship with the King of Kings. You will understand what Jesus was talking about when he released the Keys to the Kingdom to us who follow and serve him.

Topic: What does Jesus’ Kingdom look like at work?

Join our continuing discussion on Kingdom Business Building:   Christians in the marketplace often desire to bring their faith to work but are either afraid or don’t really understand how, and to what benefit it would be.  As we desire to serve Jesus, how are we building and serving Gods Kingdom on Earth in Business? What does Jesus Kingdom look like at work?

Jesus words and the bible overall state that seeking and building His Kingdom are to be our priority. There are some 150 references (NIV) to Jesus “Kingdom” in the New Testament, approximately 115 in the gospels. For comparison, there are approximately 100 references (NIV) for use of “saved” and “salvation” in the New Testament with approximately 30 in the gospels. We all understand the importance of the Gospel of Salvation, but are we missing something regarding His Kingdom on earth today? Below is just a snapshot of some of the references to Kingdom. They confirm that Jesus Kingdom message was a continuous message from beginning, to authorizing his disciples, to the end of His earthly ministry, as part of the resurrected message and shared by most New Testament writers. The writings are directed at us with a call for action.

  • Jesus Kingdom foretold in bible: “of the increase of his government and peace there will be no end. He will reign on David’s throne and over his kingdom (Isa 9:7) “Your Kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and your domain endures through all generations (Ps145:13)
  • Jesus ministry kickoff:repent for the Kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news” (NIV MT 3:2 & Mar 1:15). ” Preaching the good news of the kingdom” (MT4:23).
  • Jesus says his purpose was: “I must preach the good news of the Kingdom of God to other towns also, because that is why I was sent” (LK 4:43)
  • Jesus teaches his followers how to pray:When you pray, say Father, hollowed be your name, your Kingdom come your will be done on earth as it is in heaven” (LK11:2,
  • Jesus sends out the disciples: “sent them out to preach the Kingdom Of God” (LK9:2) “Let the dead bury their own dead, but you go and proclaim the Kingdom of God” (LK 9:60)
  • Jesus says our priority is: “but seek first the Kingdom and these things will be given to you as well” (LK 12:31, MT 6:33)
  • Jesus shares many parables and describes what the Kingdom is like: “The secrets of the Kingdom of God has been given to you. But to those outside everything is said in parables” Mar 4:11) In book of Mathew Jesus teaches 52 times on the Kingdom in 28 chapters.
  • Jesus says where to find the Kingdom: “there it is, because the Kingdom of God is within you(LK 17:21 ) “And I confer on you a Kingdom, just as my Father conferred one on me” (LK 22:29) for your Father has been pleased to give you the kingdom” (LK12:32)
  • Jesus is the King of His Kingdom: “My Kingdom is not of this world ____But now my kingdom is from another place (JN18:36)
  • Resurrected Jesus spoke about “he appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the Kingdom of God” (ACT 1:3)
  • Apostle Paul taught about the Kingdom: “Boldy without hinderance he preached the Kingdom of God and taught about the Lord Jesus Christ” (Acts 28:31) As well as in nearly every book in the New Testament.
  • John proclaims the Kingdom in Revelations: “and has made us to be a kingdom and priests to serve his God and Father” (Rev 1:6) “you have made them to be a kingdom and priests to serve our God, and they will reign on the earth”((Rev5:10)

Topic: Part 2: Retaining and Engaging Employees through a shared Company Higher purpose and mission.

As discussed in last month’s meeting, with so many employees dissatisfied with their current work and Company culture, leading to the “Great Resignation” movement. How could good Christian Business Principles and Values help to provide the significance, purpose, and genuine experience more workers are seeking?

  • How can businesses better empower their employees to carry out the business mission?
  • How are the pursuits of excellence and grace mutually beneficial?
  • How can businesses create greater transparency and employee involvement?

Topic: The Great Employee Resignation

  • What does the Bible have to say about how we treat workers?
  • Are there Kingdom Keys we can use to help our businesses with engaging and retaining our employees?

Higher wages are certainly an important factor driving millions of people around the world to quit their jobs, but an analysis of more than 1.4 million people, Glassdoor interviewed companies across 38 industries and found that company culture is 12.4 times more likely than compensation to predict whether an employee leaves this held true for workers in both frontline and so-called knowledge worker jobs.

Come to the February KBA meeting and learn about this relevant topic and plan on sharing insights you have with the group so we can all learn deeper truths together!
